SUBJECT - I LOVE THE SMELL OF PTA IN THE MORNING.
TUESDAY - 12:05p

Yesterday I forgot what time it was and was moonwalking across the foyer when my daughter got home from school. There's several other girls her age that go to her school that live in this neighborhood, and there's a carpooling thing, and it's not my turn this week, and so there are sweatpants and moonwalking and Clover gave me this look like "what the HELL are you doing?" when she walked through the door to that.

She ran away when I tried to get her to dance with me.

What's that you say about working? Oh, I'm doing that, too. It's just that if it was Harry Potter all the time, I'd probably go insane. Yes, I know, you all would love to just be Harry Potter all the time. You just don't know, man! I haven't slept in two days. It's rough.

Anyway, last night there was also a PTA-type meeting. They don't call it PTA, though, they call it something else. WHATEVER. Aside the point. They do this haunted house every Halloween, set up the halls of the school. Usually it's the Friday before Halloween, but since Halloween's ON a Friday, they're actually doing it on the date this year.

It's done by parent volunteers, so of course I am officially roped into doing this thing. Which I hate. I hate going to school functions because, sure, the kids don't actually know who I am, but the MOTHERS, the mothers know, they've been reading the books and they want to know what happens next. NO MA'AM I CANNOT TELL YOU THAT PLEASE DO NOT ASK. NO I WILL NOT TELL YOU THE NAME OF THE BOOK. NO GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Anyway, I am now on the snack committee, hanging out in the refreshment room, passing out candy and making sure no one spikes the punch.

Is it likely anyone will spike the punch? I asked when I was told this.
You never know, I was told when I asked this.

They're eight. Are you for real?

Although this is LA... you never know.
